Steeple Grange Light Railway

I had planned to visit Peak Rail on the Saturday however I decided to play one of my favourite games, Brown Sign Bingo - that's where you see an interesting brown tourist sign and follow it. In this case I was thinking of examining some of the industrial heritage of the area but came across a sign for the National Stone Centre (in the same area as the previous day's excursion). Having parked up however I saw a sign for a Light Railway - of course I couldn't resist. Steeple Grange is based around some old quarry railways, it's a small affair but it's the only time I've ever travelled on a train and had a geology lecture on the same trip.

I did also visit the National Stone Centre - it would be a reasonable visit with kids but not a lot for knowledgeable adults.

Their website is at http://www.steeplegrange.co.uk/

.

Needs a bit of work!
