Although much of my holiday was about railways the North East is also famous for ships (ultimately of course it's all about one thing - coal!) Having spent a day visiting Sunderland I decided to return via the coast road southwards and, in passing, took a few pictures of Seaham. This used to be a thriving port but is now a shadow of its former self, although there is still some commercial activity.
