Hartlepool Maritime Experience

Back to ships for a day trip to Hartlepool. I can thoroughly recommend this "experience" which incorporates the Maritime Museum itself and also the town museum. The star of the show is HMS Trincomalee - a former Royal Navy ship built on commission in India by the East India Company for the Navy. Having got there much as they opened I had the chance to look round without too many children disturbing things!  The outdoor areas were being refurbished, as they say, "It'll be nice when it's finished!" I did bring a piece of "The Trinc" home with me - a turned wooden light-pull made from timber removed during refurbishment is now on my bathroom light switch,

More details of the Experience are on their webpage http://www.hartlepoolsmaritimeexperience.com
